Terms of service
These terms explain what you can expect from VehicleFaults and what we expect from you. Please read them before you start a trial.

1. Who we are and how to reach us
Rhys Morgan trading as VehicleFaults provides an online service that generates vehicle-specific pre-purchase inspection checklists and related reports, plus a browser extension and connected stock-feed integrations. These terms form the agreement between you and Rhys Morgan trading as VehicleFaults.
You can contact us at any time at team@vehiclefaults.com. Security reports can be sent to team@vehiclefaults.com. Our registered business details and VAT position are available on request and shown on your invoices.
By creating an account, starting a trial, or using any part of the service (including free reports and the public verification pages) you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.
2. Guidance only · no warranty on vehicle condition
Our checklists are generated with the help of AI from published fault data, recalls, technical bulletins, owner reports and other public sources. They are guidance to help you inspect a vehicle more thoroughly and ask better questions.
They are not a mechanical inspection, an MOT, a valuation, a warranty, a guarantee of roadworthiness, or a statement of fact about any individual vehicle. Fault data describes what a model is commonly known for, not what is wrong with the specific car in front of you.
You remain responsible for your own buying, pricing, disclosure and appraisal decisions, and for obtaining a professional inspection where appropriate. If you resell a vehicle, you remain solely responsible for your own consumer-law obligations to your customer, including descriptions, disclosures and any warranty you give.
3. Accounts and team members
- You must give accurate details and keep your login credentials secure and confidential.
- You are responsible for everything done under your account, including by staff or team members you invite, and for making sure they follow these terms.
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. Business accounts must be opened by someone authorised to bind that business.
- Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
- We may suspend or close accounts that abuse the service, attempt to circumvent limits, create multiple accounts to extend free access, or break these terms.
4. Free reports and trials
Some features, including a limited free vehicle report, are available without an account. These are offered as-is, may be rate limited, and may change or be withdrawn at any time.
New accounts get a 14-day free trial of full access. One trial per business. Card details may be requested at sign-up; no charge is taken during the trial.
5. Plans, payment, refunds and cancellation
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Payments, billing, tax, invoicing, cancellations and refunds are handled by Paddle as Merchant of Record, and are also governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms (https://www.paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms) and Paddle's Refund Policy (https://www.paddle.com/legal/refund-policy).
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee · see our Refund Policy at /refunds for the full detail and how to request one.
- Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your plan starts automatically at the price shown at sign-up and renews each month until cancelled.
- Prices are shown in your selected currency. Where tax applies, whether prices include or exclude it is stated at checkout. Paddle collects and remits applicable VAT and sales tax.
- If a payment fails Paddle may retry it and we may suspend access until it succeeds.
- You can cancel at any time in Settings or via the Paddle billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and stops future charges.
- Refund requests can be made within 30 days of your order date at paddle.net or by emailing us · statutory consumer cancellation rights are unaffected.
- We may change prices with at least 14 days' notice by email. If you do not accept a change, you can cancel before it takes effect.
6. Acceptable use
- Do not scrape, resell, sublicense, or systematically extract our generated content or fault library, or use it to train a competing model or dataset.
- Do not use automated tooling, the API, MCP endpoints or the extension to generate reports beyond normal business use, or to bypass rate limits or usage caps.
- Do not upload unlawful, defamatory or infringing content, or photos and data you have no right to share.
- Do not attempt to access other users' data, or probe, disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.
- Do not present our reports as an independent professional inspection, a certification, or as our endorsement of a specific vehicle.
- Do not use the service to mislead a buyer or to conceal a known defect.
7. API, MCP and browser extension
Where we provide an API, MCP server, or browser extension, they are part of the service and covered by these terms. API keys are personal to your account · keep them secret and rotate them if exposed.
We may apply fair-use limits, version or deprecate endpoints, and require you to update the extension. The extension reads vehicle details from pages you visit only when you use it, and sends them to us to build a report.
8. Your content and shared reports
You keep ownership of the vehicle details, notes, photos, logos and branding you upload. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and process them, and to display your logo on the reports you generate, so we can provide the service to you.
You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload. If you share a report, publish a pass certificate, or use a public verification link, you are choosing to make that content accessible to anyone with the link.
We may use aggregated, de-identified usage data to improve the accuracy, safety and performance of the product.
9. Our content and intellectual property
The service, its software, design, branding and the structure and presentation of our fault library are owned by us or our licensors. You get a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use them for your own vehicle appraisals while your account is active.
Reports you generate can be shared with your customers and colleagues in the ordinary course of your business. All other rights are reserved. Manufacturer names, models and logos are used for identification only and remain the property of their owners; we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any manufacturer.
10. Third-party integrations and stock feeds
If you connect a stock feed or dealer management system, you authorise us to access that account with the credentials or tokens you provide, confirm you are permitted to grant that access, and remain bound by that provider's own terms.
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy or security of third-party systems, or for changes they make that break an integration. You can disconnect an integration at any time in Settings.
11. Availability, support and changes to the service
We work to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. Planned maintenance, third-party outages and AI provider limits can affect availability.
Support is provided by email on business days. We may change, add, suspend or withdraw features, and will give reasonable notice of material changes that adversely affect paid plans.
12. Suspension and termination
You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access immediately for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, non-payment, or where required by law · and otherwise on reasonable notice.
On termination your right to use the service ends. You should export anything you need first. We retain data as described in the privacy policy, then delete or anonymise it.
13. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of bargains or goodwill, vehicle repair or rectification costs, resale losses, or losses arising from a vehicle's actual condition or from a decision you took using our guidance. Our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid to us in that period.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
14. Indemnity (business users)
If you use the service for business purposes, you agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms, your unlawful use of the service, content you upload, or a claim by your customer relating to a vehicle you sold.
15. Data protection
Each of us will comply with applicable data protection law. We process personal data as described in our privacy policy. Where you use the service to process personal data about your own customers, you are the controller of that data and we act as your processor for it; our standard processing terms are available on request.
16. General
- Force majeure · neither party is liable for delays caused by events outside its reasonable control.
- Assignment · you may not transfer your rights without our consent; we may assign these terms as part of a reorganisation or sale of the business.
- Entire agreement · these terms, plus any order or plan details, are the whole agreement between us.
- Severability and waiver · if a term is unenforceable, the rest stands; not enforcing a right is not a waiver of it.
- No third-party rights · no one other than you and us can enforce these terms.
- Notices · we contact you at your account email; you contact us at the email above.
17. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; material changes will be notified by email or in the app at least 14 days before they take effect where practicable. Continued use after that means you accept the new terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, unless local consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live. Complaints are handled by email and we aim to respond within 5 business days.
